Frequently Asked Questions?

Do I need any approvals before contacting L & M Ceiling & Drywall Repair?

Don’t worry about a thing, we will organize all necessary approvals with the council and Water Corporation when you first meet with us. We’re committed to working with you from start to finish – we even organize the survey and engineering details for you.

Should I change my own insurance when completing home renovations?

We advise all of our clients to contact and inform their home insurance company of any works prior to undertaking any renovations. They will know what’s best for you and where to take it from there.

How long do renovations take?

The short answer: 3-6 months. But in reality, every single renovation we complete is unique and specifically tailored to the individual. So, depending on your needs and requirements, a time frame will be drawn up to reflect the proposed renovation.

Prior to signing the contract, RCJ Construction will work closely with you to ensure we successfully organize the allowable working days to complete the project. Every renovation is different, so every renovation will differ in building time, however we always do our best to make things go as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Do I need to move out while the renovations take place?

This is entirely up to you and depends on how big your renovation is and the duration of the build.  We think it’s best to speak to your Site Manager before making any decisions, but the team of experts here at RCJ Construction will gladly offer our advice, too.  We’ll find a solution that’s well-suited to your needs.

How much mess will there be during the renovation?

As every renovation project is unique, there is not a universal answer to this question.  However,  RCJ Construction strictly adheres to professional standards and treats both our clients and our work with the utmost respect. Wherever possible, we will minimize the mess for the duration of the renovation.

However, in cases where it may be necessary to carry out the demolition, furnishings will need to be covered and there may be a couple of noisy, messy days – but that’s all part of the transformation! Of course,  RCJ Construction will make you fully aware of any demolition or procedures that may impact the level of mess or disturbance.

Can I/we change the design plan once it has been drawn up?

Absolutely. If you want to make any in-house changes to the design plan before the contract is signed, we’ll provide these free of charge. Please be aware that any changes made after the contract has been signed may result in additional fees.  L & M Ceiling & Drywall Repair recommends working with our great team of professionals in-house prior to signing the contract, to make sure you have peace of mind about your renovation project.

Am I able to employ additional tradespeople while L & M Ceiling & Drwall Repair is on site?

Generally not. Additional tradespeople unrelated to the L & M Ceiling & Drywall Repair are not covered by insurance, which can lead to trouble if even the smallest thing goes wrong. We encourage you to seek guidance from your Site Manager if you wish to hire additional tradespeople, to ensure you don’t end up paying unnecessary fees and costs.

Can I purchase my own fixtures and fittings for the renovation?

You certainly can and we’re more than happy for you to do so.  However, please make sure you advise your consultant prior to any materials being purchased. Any changes can affect both the price and scheduling of the renovation. We think the best idea is to always seek consultation from us before making any additional purchases.

What locations/areas does L & M Ceiling & Drwall Repair Group operate and work in?

How long should a bathroom renovation take?

Similar to kitchen renovations, the length of your bathroom remodel will depend on a few different factors. The scope of your bathroom remodel will directly affect the timeline of your remodel. Additionally, your decisiveness and approval of any items before and during the remodel will either propel or hinder the speed of your project. The larger the scope of the project, the longer it will take to complete. A full gut remodel will take longer to complete than only replacing flooring or fixtures. For a better understanding of what to expect, learn about the meeting and design process before we get started.

How much will my bathroom remodel cost?

Of course, your specific remodeling costs will depend on the level of remodeling, the features you choose, and the size of your space. At your free in-home consultation, we’ll listen carefully to your remodeling goals and help you get a better idea of how much it will cost to achieve them.

Are your bathroom appliances energy efficient?

Yes! We think it is important to minimize your utilities use and cost by installing appliances that conserve water, thus decreasing your monthly water bill.
